It never ceases to amaze me the applicationsof mindfulness such an example can be the simple pleasure of a cup of coffee. Mindfulness is about paying attention to the present without judgment, being able to step away from yesterday's worries or tomorrow’s concerns.
The goal is simply to make what you are experiencing “right now” an automatic response in your everyday life.
Imagine what life would be like being free of concerns over the future, which we cannot truly predict and being able to let the past just be the past. Instead just focusing our attention on the joy that a good cup of coffee can bring and how we are feel about the “here & now” enjoying spending a few moments indulging in the delicate aroma of the coffee letting our sense of taste appreciate that initial sip, pushing away any other thought other than the present moment.
